Ms. Represented (misrepresented)
In North America, often dubbed the “land of milk and honey”; indigenous peoples of various continents, including Africa and South America, have been egregiously misrepresented and
marginalized through the use of the term “black”; as a curse. This term, laden with connotations of darkness, evil, and suppression, has historically been used to denigrate and dehumanize individuals with dark skin, particularly those of African descent. Beyond its literal meaning as the darkest color, “black”; has been associated with moral depravity, illegal activities, and calamity, perpetuating harmful stereotypes and injustices against melanated communities worldwide.
